How did you fall into working as a Gay Escort?
When I first arrived in London, I was working in a bar and became good friends with another guy that worked there. Despite him only working two shifts a week, I noticed that he always had new phones, new trainers, new jewellery, like every time he came into work.
I always suspected that he was up-to no good, but I thought something more down the lines of drug dealing. We eventually ended up in bed together one night after many post-work cocktails, and he confessed that he worked as a Gay Escort. I was really shocked about it. but then the more he told me about it, the more intrigued I became.
A few weeks later he said that his client had seen a photo of me on his mobile and offered an obscene amount of money to sleep with us both, a threesome. My friend told me the client was really respectful and actually a good looking middle aged guy, so I decided to give it a shot. I absolutely loved it, couldn’t believe I’d just earned the same as a months wage at the pub, and I was making the next moves to become an escort, listing my profiles etc on gay escort sites the very next day.
Do you escort full-time now then?
I’ve actually kept my job in the pub because I love the social side and it stops me going out spending too much money out at the weekend. Working as an escort isn’t really what you would call full-time anyway, I’m still only human and men have their limits, if you get what I mean?
On average I see about 5 clients a week, they usually book me for 2 hours at a time, so 10 hours a week are escorting. Commute time probably adds another 10 hours to that though as my bookings are all over London.
Have you told your friends and family what you do?
No! I haven’t told anyone what I do, I do worry about what they would think if they found out. Now that I know the job well myself, I’ve been doing it a year, I know that there’s nothing to be ashamed about, but it would take some convincing my Mum & Dad of this.
My parents are strict Catholics and where I’m from even being Gay is a huge deal, never mind sleeping with men for money. I haven’t told any of my friends in London or back home, but no doubt they think I’m a drug dealer too now as I am never short of nice things despite working two nights a week!
Where do you usually meet a client?
I live in a shared house, London prices mean I begrudge paying for my own place even though I could afford it now, so I only offer an out-call service. I would say 50% of the time it is in hotel rooms, 50% in clients apartments.
What does a typical meet with a client entail?
I used to think that an escort was somebody that you paid to take to dinner and pretend was your boyfriend, but no, my meets as a gay escort are only ever about sex to be honest. Perhaps once a month a client will request an overnight booking that will involve dinner etc, but 95% of the time it is men that want to satisfy their sexual desires.
Can you tell us about the process from start to end?
Sure, I receive a text asking if I am available. It’s generally guys that are wanting to meet immediately so you might be sat watching telly and before you know it, it’s time to get to work. Client’s usually are very straight forward, they have seen everything they need from your escort profile, and just want to firm off the time and location.
Once it’s all been agreed I now ask to take a deposit, as I had a few instances of making my way all the way to the other side of London and it had been a hoax booking! The deposit does put some clients off, but there is no shortage of clients so I just wait for the next request.
Once the booking all confirmed, I just need to make sure I’m clean and well dressed, so I obviously shower and douche, in case the client wants to top. I pack my bag with condoms, poppers and lube and make my way to the client’s location.
On arrival there is generally a few minutes of pleasantries, I take the money, then we get down to business. I advertise as an dominant top masculine male, so I tend to take “control” of the situation.
The sessions are generally less time than the client books, there have been times when I have been booked and paid for two hours but been in and out in 30 mins! I always ask the client if they want me to stay for the booked time, but once men have shot their load, they want their own space back.
Are you selective about who you will see as a client?
You can’t really be selective as it just wouldn’t work. If you started asking clients to describe themselves, their age and personality profile, they would run a mile and you would never get booked! I will basically see any client that has the money to pay and is near enough for me to get to. If they start asking for strange requests I’ll just tell them I am not the right fit for them.
So what is off limits for you then?
I’m very open minded, but I won’t do submission or water-sports. And I won’t be filmed! So many people are requesting that recently!
Is it always you that takes the lead in the bedroom?
Yes, I try to read the client but it is usually me that takes the lead. When people are paying for an escort they are generally high-flyers that have to take the lead in the office etc, so they want a night off and somebody else to do the bedroom management.
Do you prefer meeting in hotels or the clients London pad?
Definitely hotel rooms. In hotels, it’s a neutral playing ground, you are not looking at the bedside table and seeing pictures of the family! Although visiting some of my wealthier client’s in their stunning London homes can feel like a privilege.
How much do you charge?
I charge £200 for one hour escort or £300 for 2 hours, so most of my clients take advantage of the offer on 2 hours. But like I mentioned, it’s very rare a client will take full advantage of the 2 hours but they just prefer not having to clock watch as an hour does go really fast when you are with me!
Describe a typical client.
Client’s always ask me this question themselves and it’s so difficult to answer as all my client’s are oh so different. Usually 30-50 I would say. Usually wealthy. Usually fairly in shape. Usually not bad looking.
Have you had any horrible experiences?
Only one springs to mind, I turned up to a clients’ hotel room and it was like a crack-den. Drug paraphernalia everywhere, he was dangerously off his tits. I was so concerned for him but I told him I didn’t feel comfortable and asked if I could call him an ambulance. He wouldn’t let me, but we agreed he would message me in a few hours to let me know he was OK and I left. He still paid me.
Have you ever met a couple?
No, I forgot to mention before when you asked what was off limits, but no I don’t meet couples. The only threesome I have ever had in my life, still to date, was that first escort booking I did! It was my friend that got me into escorting told me not to meet couples, he said they always end up awkward, so I just took his advice.
What would you say is the biggest misconception as working as a gay escort in London?
That people do it out of desperation. I now know a few other Gay Escorts, and they are mainly very talented or intelligent guys that could turn their hands to other well paid careers. Also the perception of the type of clients that use gay escorts, everyone presumes it would be predominately old retired men, and it very much is not the case.
Do you have regular clients?
I have a few, but London is a fast moving city and my client’s are generally just visiting for work.
What is the biggest perk working as a gay escort?
The hours! I can work when I want, if I wake up one day and fancy the day, the day off will be had.
Have you ever dated a client?
Yes, I know it breaks all the rules, but I fell for a client and we then started meeting without a financial transaction. It’s quite difficult to date anyone being an escort, when your job involves you cheating 5 times a week, but this guy was really open minded and cool about it. We dated for a month and it was going really well, but then he got offered a dream job overseas. We did discuss me going with him, but we realised it was too much of a risk when we was still getting to know each other, and we very amicably decided to call it a day. If I’m completely honest it was the right thing to do, as I didn’t miss him when he left.
What is the worst part of being a gay escort?
For me it is having to keep a big secret to my family and friends. Being a gay escort comes with lot’s of funny experiences and stories to tell, and so many times I nearly accidentally blurt them out to the wrong people. I don’t like being dishonest with anyone, so this is definitely the hardest part of gay escorting to me.
Do you always practice safe sex with your clients?
No. I take PREP and get tested much more regularly than most gay men, but I do allow sex without condoms if clients want that.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
Oh that’s a difficult one for me. I very much live for the day and don’t tend to plan ahead for my future too much. I know what you are getting at with the questions, that I can’t do this job forever, but for now I’m just going to take it day by day and enjoy the good life whilst I can.
Once I give up the escort world I will probably move away from London to somewhere less chaotic. I’m originally from a small town, and as much as I love the big city, I think the small town life still is my preference.
